Stay eligible for NHS contracts under the Evergreen assessment
Since April 2026, NHS Supply Chain tenders require Evergreen Level 1 as a minimum.

The NHS has committed to Net Zero by 2040 for its own operations and by 2045 across its supply chain, and Evergreen is how it checks that suppliers are on that path. Since 6 April 2026, Evergreen Level 1 is a minimum requirement at tender close for NHS Supply Chain Framework bids - not scored, but a gate you can't get past without it.
Requirements are only getting tighter.
From April 2027, the NHS will introduce a two-tier Carbon Reduction Plan system, with global-boundary emissions reporting across Scopes 1 to 3 for suppliers working toward Level 2. Meeting Level 1 now and building toward Level 2, puts you ahead of that shift instead of scrambling to catch up.
